ROLE: Country Finance Lead

WAYS YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE
The Country Finance Lead will assist Programs teams and partners with due diligence, budgeting, controls, contracts, financial reporting, and analysis. Seeking a Finance Lead with significant portfolio experience. Program teams in-country will contact the role for Finance.
Contribution methods
- Manage Finance program partner contracts from EOI to contract approval, due diligence, budget reviews, program execution and monitoring, and program completion.
- Train external program partners on budgeting, reporting, due diligence, financial controls, and Canadian regulatory requirements for contract execution.
- Help the Foundation’s Programs staff plan and implement comprehensive programming programs with financial advice.
- Ad-hoc data and support for learning, evaluation, and program output and value-for-money analysis.
- Report contract commitments, disbursements, and cash flow estimates.
- Update the management grants system with program financial data in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitoring program financial performance post-kickoff (Deliver phase) to ensure foundation resources are allocated as planned and there are sufficient money and financial controls to achieve program results.
- Ensure programs have sufficient business controls to protect the foundation’s assets.
- Compliance with local and international financial regulations, such as Canada Revenue Agency standards, anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism laws, etc.
- Report partner money matters as required by partner contracts and close follow-up actions.
- Program execution financial issue resolution.
- Manage extensive program assessment methods to ensure plan quality (Due diligence assessment quality).
- Lead organization capacity assessments, especially the financial capability of possible partners.
- Drive annual due diligence review and update Programs team and partner work plans.
- Assess partners’ financial statements, tax returns, financial capabilities, and watchlists.
- Assess charity law compliance with Legal & Compliance.
WHO YOU
- ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICA, CMA, or other CA qualifications and a bachelor’s degree are necessary.
- 10 years of growing financial experience in large, worldwide corporations. Non-profit experience is preferred but not required.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting experience.
- Able to create routine accounting records and financial reports and apply correct accounting treatments.
- Financial Internal Controls Management experience.
- Analytical and detail-oriented.
- Project Management Skills.
- Problem-solving and influence.
- Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and business risks.
- Self-disciplined, goal-oriented, and team-oriented.
- Excel expert.
- Inventive and resourceful.
English fluent, French a plus. - Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities to communicate with diverse constituents.
- Professional maturity, cultural sensitivity, and perfect integrity are the Foundation’s ideals.
