Lubricants Supplies Ghana Invites Job Applications

We are looking for a detail-oriented, experienced Accounting Officer to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be in charge of handling financial transactions, creating accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting the Finance Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities

Financial Transaction Management:

  • Oversee daily financial transactions and verify that they are properly documented in the accounting system.
  • Maintain and reconcile bank statements and general ledger balances.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements that comply with accounting rules.
  • Prepare financial reports for management assessment and decision-making.

Compliance and Regulation:

  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal accounting and tax rules.
  • Maintain current knowledge of accounting standards and financial rules.

Support for the Finance Manager:

  • Assist the Finance Manager with budgeting and forecasting operations.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and reports to aid financial planning and strategy.

Internal Controls and Audits:

  • Establish and maintain internal controls to protect firm assets.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to make audits easier.

Software proficiency:

  • Use accounting software (such as Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) for financial processing and reporting.
  • Maintain competency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting activities.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar discipline.
  • A master’s degree or a professional qualification (e.g., ICA, ACCA) is an extra benefit.
  • At least 3/4 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance positions.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting requirements, and tax regulations.
  • High precision and attention to detail, as well as the ability to efficiently handle many assignments and deadlines.
