Position Description
MSI Ghana is looking for passionate, well-organized, client-oriented, and enthusiastic individuals in Accra with the required qualification/s and experience. Moreover, MSI Ghana’s mission is to help the underserved and provide access to Family Planning (FP) and other Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services. MSI Reproductive Choices is unequivocally pro-choice. We think that every woman has the right to make her own decisions about her body and her future.
Contract duration: indefinite
Responsibilities
The Medical Officer (MO) will be primarily responsible for delivering general medical care as well as SRH services such as family planning, safe abortion, and STI management to MSIG Clinical teams. Also, The MO will collaborate closely with the Clinical Quality Team to ensure that Clinical Quality Standards are met throughout all Service Channels. The position will be located in Accra at the MSIG Premier Clinic at Tesano, with travel to other operational districts in Ghana.
Partnership and network building
- Establish functional relationships with important SRH partners who are interested in clinical concerns related to service delivery.
- Develop strong and collaborative relationships with other healthcare providers to facilitate learning sharing, referrals, and medical emergency management.
Service Delivery Responsibilities
- Provide a full spectrum of SRH services, such as family planning, safe abortion, and STI management.
- Collaborate with the Medical Development team to ensure compliance with all quality assurance criteria, methods, and procedures.
- Enable and support Quality Technical Assistance processes for service delivery channels as mandated.
- Give clinical and operational teams guidance on SRH services.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical training.
- Maintain and promote a professional working atmosphere.
- Participate in MSIG’s yearly business and strategy planning sessions.
- Attend sessions of the Medical Advisory Team.
MSIG Communication and Administration
- Keep professional communication standards with department heads and other team members.
- Keep and manage service-providing activity records.
- Provide clinical project updates to health management teams on a regular basis.
- Make certain that all formal communications with the various partners are appropriately documented.
Required Qualifications or Experience
To be successful in this position, you must have:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD/MBChB/MBBS) with expertise in sexual and reproductive health.
- Have permanent registration with the Ghana Medical and Dental Council and be in good standing with them.
- Know the clinical policies, protocols, and standards of the Ghana Health Service.
- Service experience in sexual and reproductive health,
- Be interested about sexual and reproductive health and must be pro-choice.
- MUST be understanding of the needs of both men and women seeking Family Planning and Reproductive Health services.
- To obtain outcomes, you must be able to work on your own initiative and motivate people to provide high-quality service.
- MUST be customer-focused and have strong interpersonal skills in order to interact with people at all levels of government, donors, and the community.
- Gender-sensitive and youth-friendly.
