It is based in Accra, with network offices in Tamale and Salaga.
Job Description
- Location: Oti, Bono East, Northern, Volta.
- Reporting to the Regional Project Officer.
- Contract term: two years, with the possibility of extension.
- Associates: Project Officers.
Objectives for the Position
To ensure that planned activities in the district are effectively coordinated, planned, executed, and monitored so that SEND Ghana can fulfill its responsibilities as the FILMA program’s Ecosystem Development lead.
Duties, roles, and responsibilities.
Project Coordination.
- Will prepare and submit activity plans and budgets for approval.
- Shall develop and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports on all implemented activities in the district.
- To establish relationships with stakeholders in the financial, agricultural, and adjacent sectors during the implementation of FILMA project operations.
- Shall coordinate the operations of district working groups to highlight the voices of young women and people with disabilities.
- Will coordinate the activities of Multipurpose cooperatives at the district, zonal, and community levels.
- Plan and deliver advocacy and cooperative development training to SILCs/VSLAs, Multipurpose Cooperatives, and Private Agriculture Service Providers.
- Facilitate the recruitment, training, monitoring, and mentoring of Gender Model Families in project communities.
- Assist in conducting Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (PM&E) exercises in the district.
- Monitor and report on the project’s performance indicators related to ecosystem development.
- Compile success stories and project results pertaining to ecosystem development.
Required Skill or Experience
- Education and job experience are essential.
- A bachelor’s degree in development studies, agricultural science, economics, rural development, environmental sciences, and allied fields,
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in public policy advocacy, local governance, access to financing, and agricultural development
- Experience working in a development program that promotes access to financing for young men and women, single moms, and people with disabilities in agriculture and related industries.
- Experience in community mobilization, working with social groups, cooperatives, and district assemblies.
- Key Competency and Skills
- Good mobilization and coordination capabilities.
- Policy advocacy and engagement.
- Research and analysis.
- Good grasp of access to finance for young women and people with disabilities.
- Youth and Gender Sensitive Project Implementation Techniques
- Computer proficiency for reporting, planning, monitoring, and presenting
- Report writing and communication abilities
- Effective presenting and facilitation skills
