POSITION: Cocoa Life Project Manager

Principal Responsibilities
Provide overall project management and direction for Mondelez International Cocoa Life to ensure effective program implementation in specified operational areas within the context of WV Ghana’s Strategic Direction.
Key Deliverables/Responsibilities
- Design and develop annual work plans for the Cocoa Life project in the framework of World Vision’s Mission and Vision, as well as per WV Ghana’s Strategy and specific Area Programs for the accomplishment of WV’s Child well-being outcomes.
- Create and implement appropriate approaches and methodologies to ensure program sustainability via community empowerment, stakeholder capacity building, and collaborative relationships.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with appropriate district, regional, and national government agencies, as well as staff in District Assemblies, particularly MOFA, COCOBOD and subsidiaries (CSSVD, QCD, PBC, SPU, CRIG), the Department of Cooperatives, and NBSSI.
- Liaise with People & Culture (P&C) to recruit team members such as Program
- Facilitators, S4T Officers, M&E Officers, and others as needed. Write and amend job descriptions for team members for P&C consideration.
- Facilitate the development of Cocoa Life staff capacity in WV programs, systems, and procedures to ensure compliance during the implementation of Cocoa Life activities.
- With the assistance of WV Ghana’s Grants Manager, prepare and routinely review annual budgets per project annual plans, as well as any additional periodic budgets that may be required.
- To manage contracts implemented by consultants and stakeholders, ensure that proper Scopes of work and terms of reference are employed.
- Put in place effective structures to carry out the Cocoa Life design, monitoring, and evaluation plan.
- Through quarterly, semi-annual, and annual planning and review sessions with stakeholders, organize and engage in result-learning and sharing activities at the district, regional, and national levels.
- Manage partner agreements and successfully engage key partners in the Cocoa Life operating areas of the districts.
- Qualification for the post requires the following minimum education, training, and experience:
Requirements
- A University first degree or equivalent with a focus on Development, Economics, and/or Business Development is required. A second degree or an MBA is advantageous.
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar position, directing, coordinating, and executing similar projects is required.
- Project Management Capabilities
- Strong facilitation and capacity-building skills, as well as participation experience;
- Ability to negotiate and collaborate with partners and organizations at all levels, from local to national policymakers;
- Excellent awareness of socioeconomic concerns;
- Ability to think strategically and conceptually;
- Excellent understanding of agriculture value chain program design and implementation;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others
- Excellent written and spoken English skills, as well as the ability to speak a local language;
- Solid managerial multitasking abilities; the ability to work under pressure and deliver; writing, presentation, and reporting abilities;
- Computer abilities such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to manage partnerships with local partners.
