ROLE: Head Transaction Banking Ghana 

Job Description

  • The Country Transaction Banking Head will manage and deliver Transaction Banking end-to-end product objectives within the country in alignment with global product line objectives, including financial and non-financial performance, capability enhancement, product and client access future strategies, and risk and governance oversight in collaboration with the Product Heads for Cash and Trade.
  • The candidate will play an important role in ensuring that Transaction Banking activities are grounded in the Bank’s strategic priorities by delivering customer value, driving productivity, optimizing cost efficiencies, facilitating #simplefasterbetter, and living the valued behaviors. Individuals who can provide strategic direction, influence, and align ambitious objectives and priorities while driving effective execution through talented, engaged teams are required for this post.
  • Product Management is responsible for developing product strategy, executing it, and commercializing it, all while adhering to clear, straightforward, and robust product universe governance and product risk lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Leads the consulting and discovery analysis of both met and unmet client demands, integrating these insights with the current and near-future market, industry, and network knowledge.
  • Within the market, drives the Global Product Vision and Strategy and articulates the product suite’s business value for our clients and stakeholders. The Product Vision and
  • Strategy will: provide an end-to-end product lifecycle architecture that lays out the technological and data environment that will be built, as well as the necessary process and governance;
  • Consider the competencies and resources of countries and regional stakeholders.
  • Set agreed-upon client servicing and product delivery standards with our global technology and service teams; Outline the managed process for product decommissioning; Include a robustly defined operating plan outlining product release timelines and implementation, as well as coordination of all activities required to bring the product to the client/market. This will necessitate communication across many teams, including risk, legal, compliance, and technology, as well as managing dependencies across the various stages of product development.

Business

  • Product P/L Management – Financial Management
  • Delivers new revenue streams with long-term meaningful returns through product refinement and innovation, while boosting existing revenue streams through process efficiency and digitization.
  • Manages the cost and investment of product development, from product unit cost reduction to product launch/go-to-market cost optimization.
  • Leads process design work with Operations, Technology, and other department partners with the goal of converting process optimization to bottom-line cost control with high reliability.
  • Deliver on budget by actively managing:
  • Revenue (previous and new revenue streams)
  • Product penetrability: 1) Number of markets that use the product; 2) Number of consumers who use the product
  • Drive liabilities / OPAC collection in order to increase contribution
  • Cost (product operating costs)
  • Cost and efficiency of both allocated and direct cost returns (i.e. product profitability) are reviewed and managed.

Commercialization and market management

  • Identifies new business prospects and revenue streams while describing how the product capabilities may meet the demands and requirements of clients.
  • Creates a product commercialization strategy that merges product positioning with client value propositions, all tailored to our client’s industries and markets.
  • Works closely with Universal Market/Global Product Heads to construct the Product Landscape, which is based on data and business information from multiple sources such as sales, clients, and competitive market analyses.
  • Prior to product launch, works closely with Universal Market/Global Product Heads to verify product readiness and fit for purpose at the country/market level.
  • Actively addresses identified business pain points by analyzing pragmatic solutions with broad application and replication possibilities for the countries/markets.
  • Conduct regular product offering reviews to ensure a “fit for purpose” operating plan and product agenda.
  • Helps in the launch of product upgrades, new goods, channels, or platforms.
  • Directly responsible for the commercialization of product capabilities, including product launch, commercialization plans, targets, and ensuring infrastructure requirements are met.
  • Lead product brand and capabilities training sessions for client-facing teams (TB Sales, GB RMs, CB RMs) in order to communicate the product positioning and client value proposition.
  • Customize applicable commercialization toolkits, product packs, and related documentation to assist and teach TB Sales, CCIB, and GTO personnel.
  • To drive sales and solutions provides business solutions for difficult transactions or RFPs.
  • Meets with and engages clients in order to better understand their needs or commercialize new skills.
  • Ensures that deals and innovative solutions are replicated across countries and industries.

Qualification

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably a postgraduate degree
  • 12 years of relevant banking experience is required.
