About the Company
Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC) is a well-established research center in Africa. It is one of three field research sites run by the Ghana Health Service’s Research and Development Division. KHRC’s work affects health policy and practice in Ghana, Africa, and the rest of the world.
KHRC also helps with study and training on a national and international scale, and its employees come from many different fields. KHRC is in Kintampo, which is in the middle belt of Ghana.
Job Description
Those who are qualified can apply to work as a midwife on contract at the Kintampo Health Study Centre, Kintampo North Municipality, Bono-East Region, on a specific study project.
Brief Description of the Job
He or she will be accountable to the Director of the KHRC through the head of the project for achieving certain goals.
Key Responsibilities
If the midwife is chosen, she will be trained to do ultrasounds on study subjects. However, if she already knows how to do basic ultrasounds, that will be a plus.
The midwife will also be in charge of measuring the mother’s and baby’s heart rates, taking the mother’s blood pressure, and making other medical checks. counseling the pregnant women and, if necessary, sending them to a health facility based on a physical check, diagnostic tests, or complaints from study participants.
Counseling study members on how to deal with bad things that happen during pregnancy, like miscarriages, stillbirths, and deaths of newborns and infants.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualification
- Midwifery Diploma or BSc. Midwifery
- The nurse should have worked for at least one year.
- Must have finished the one-year shift that was required of them.
- Have a clinical qualification in midwifery from a recognized and approved school
- Be a member of one of the groups for nurses and midwives, have your pin, and be in good standing.
- Know the Ghana Health Service’s clinical principles inside and out.

Note: As part of the work, the research team will have to go to villages in Kintampo North Municipality and Kintampo South district to meet with people who are taking part in the study.
