Fairafric Ghana Ltd. has a new job opening for a Utility Technician. This is a full-time position in Amanase, Suhum, in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Job purpose:
To perform a variety of manual and semi-skilled labor tasks related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution and wastewater collection system.
Duties and responsibilities
- Inspecting blueprints, installing utility equipment, and testing systems to ensure proper operation.
- To maximize operational efficiency, perform emergency repairs, maintain tools, order supplies, and make routine adjustments.
- When inspecting systems, keep track of data such as equipment temperature, fuel consumption, and operating hours.
- When servicing air conditioning equipment, recover and properly dispose of refrigerants because they can be harmful to the environment.
- Schedule maintenance on utility equipment.
- Supervise air conditioner, water chiller, and refrigeration maintenance.
- Ensure the proper operation of on-site utility facilities.
- Actively promotes safety.
- Check log sheet data on a regular basis.
- Perform improvement tasks as assigned by his manager.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role is required.
- A Higher National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- HVAC technical knowledge is essential.
- Other abilities include time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
