POSITION: Senior Trainer – Mine Operations

About This Position
To ensure that Mining Operations / Equipment Operators receive cost-effective competency-based training programs, as well as to build the necessary skills and values. It entails class scheduling, on-the-job training, and assessment in order to create a trained and skilled workforce for mining operations, which includes the implementation and supervision of local labor.
In this position, you will
Compliance
- Comply with all Newmont Ghana Occupational Health and Safety requirements, as well as those mandated by Ghanaian law.
- Ensure that complete recording policies and procedures are followed.
Analysis of Needs
Contribute to the identification of mining worker training needs.
Support
Help with the company’s approved mobile equipment licensing scheme. If necessary, go to and support other Newmont sites.
Assessment and Training
- Run immersive/simulation training programs.
- Conduct training sessions for mobile equipment operators.
- Conduct driver licensing and permitting programs for live vehicles.
- Create training materials.
- Train the entire crew to meet Newmont standards.
- Mining personnel should be trained on standard operating procedures.
- For competency advancement, evaluate operators at various levels of competency.
- In order to enhance operator recruiting, assess and evaluate.
Checklist of Your Education, Skills, and Experience
Formal Education (including Professional Registration):
- Mining or mechanical engineering diplomas or degrees are available.
- Certification as a Workplace Trainer / Assessor.
- Trainer Certification from Mincom.
- Driver Instructor and Assessor Certificate – a plus.
Additional Information
- Understanding of Ghana’s Occupational Health and Safety laws.
Experience
- Experience operating heavy mobile equipment in open pit mining operations ranging from 5 to 7 years.
- On-the-job and off-the-job experience with competency-based training.
Technical Knowledge
- Advanced communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership abilities.
- The ability to plan and carry out process training activities.

- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office suite products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
