ROLE: Security Supervisor – Integrated Electronic Security System

This Job’s Role:
To help the Site Security Manager handle all the electronic security systems, projects, and operations on a day-to-day basis. This includes managing the electronic Access Control, CCTV, Intruder Detection, and all systems connected to the Security Command Centre.
In this position, you’ll:
Taking care of contractors
- Supervise the work of assigned Security Supervisors on a day-to-day basis. This includes making sure people can get in and out of business property, doing surveillance, watching security systems, and responding to alarms.
- Manage the part of the outsourced security contract that has to do with the Integrated Electronic Security System (IESS). This includes making sure that security tasks are done to the right standard at fixed sites, in the security operations center, and in the investigative and analytical functions.
- Track contractor performance based on the service level agreement and handle any IESS-related non-conformance or poor performance.
Management of Integrated Electronic Security Systems
- Daily management of all integrated electronic security systems, such as access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and car tracking systems.
- Manage high-tech security systems like drone platforms, non-lethal anti-ASM defenses, and detection systems, among other things.
- Give expert help on all security systems that use electronics.
- Troubleshoot IESS problems and find and manage ways to fix them.
- Develop operational suggestions for the IESS by analyzing needs and writing down equipment specs.
- Do security risk assessments for each area on the site.
- Tell site security management and area security management about your suggestions.
- Do analyses and put together monthly reports that show the state of all IESS security projects and programs related to electronic, physical, data, voice, and video security.
Projects for Integrated Electronic Security Systems
- Take charge of all projects involving combined electronic security systems.
- Find, test, and suggest new security technologies for the mine, as well as find them.
- Find out what the IESS requirements are for mining projects and improvements and evaluate them.
- Make specifications, determine the scope, find, choose, and build IESS for mining projects and developments.
- Project management, writing, and keeping track of projects, as well as writing weekly progress reports on projects.
- Manage the start-up of new electronic security systems and tools.
Your Checklist of Training, Skills, and Experience:
Formal Qualifications (including Professional Registrations):
- Information/Security Technology Higher National Diploma.
- Certification for relevant computer security systems.
Additional Knowledge:
- Understanding of how to run a job.
- Knowledge of the gold mining business and work experience in it.
Experience:
- At least ten years of experience with security systems, preferably in the mining business.
- Strong background in administration and working understanding of things like purchasing, budgeting, and reporting.
- A driver with at least a Ghana class C license and a lot of experience.
Technical Skills:
- Excellent speaking skills both in writing and in person.
- To talk to business leaders, you must be sure of yourself.
- Strong skills in leading and managing, as well as in presenting.
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and other computer skills.
- People management knowledge, the ability to work with both internal and external partners, and experience with continuous improvement programs and integrated electronic security management systems.
