Job Description.
We have an interesting opportunity for a highly trained electrical engineer to take up a post in our Processing Department as an Electrical Supervisor.
JOB PURPOSE
To supervise electrical professionals and ensure that electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance are completed efficiently, safely, and under electrical codes, laws, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the highest safety standards, including OSHAS 18001, environmental management (ISO 14001), and company policies and laws;
- Create, distribute, and control daily job cards for work to be done;
- Ensure all electrical critical spares are kept within required limits.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all electrical repair work.
- Identify tasks and create the necessary standard operating procedures (SOPs) to address them;
- Ensure that procedures for safe task execution are in place and followed (they include task instructions, permits to work, task risk assessments, and toolbox talks);
- Maintain electrical infrastructures and equipment in compliance with standards to satisfy expected dependability and ‘uptime’ Key Performance Indicators;
- Communicate regularly and effectively with the Unit Manager – Electrical and
- Instrumentation and other supervisors as needed.
- Ensure regulatory compliance.
- Perform additional related duties as directed by the supervisor.
Required Skill or Experience
Knowledge
- Must have a minimum of Degree/HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or its equivalent, from a recognized university.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of practical electrical engineering experience in a mining or similar setting, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory position;
- Must have MV switching experience and a solid skill set in working with MV motors.
- Must have experience with process heating systems such as kilns and ovens.
- Must be computer proficient with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Must have a valid Ghanaian driver’s license and the ability to drive in tough terrain.
Skills
Strong understanding of architectural and engineering design principles, ability to apply standards, methodologies, and procedures, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Must have good communication abilities.
Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
Strong leadership qualities, including the capacity to encourage and inspire teams to peak performance.
