POSITION: Mine Supervisor
Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd is seeking a Mine Supervisor to lead daily mining and haulage activities at our Obotan Site. This role offers the opportunity to coordinate production, enforce safety standards, and drive operational efficiency.

Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd operates a multi-pit mining complex on the Asankrangwa Gold Belt with a 5.5Mtpa processing plant and expansion potential. As a Mine Supervisor, you will conduct daily pre-shift safety meetings, supervise ore haulage and waste disposal, maintain access roads, manage water abstraction points, and verify contractor equipment hours . Your role directly supports production targets through effective oversight of ROM pad operations and crusher feed plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations: Supervise mining and haulage activities, ensuring efficient performance and accurate end-of-shift reporting.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate safety requirements and production targets; enforce adherence to occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Contractor Management: Assist in supervising mining and haulage contractors, monitor production performance, and implement improvements.
- Operational Support: Maintain mine access roads, oversee water abstraction for dust suppression, and ensure ROM pad operations align with crusher feed plans.
What You Bring to the Role
- A Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- A Minerals Commission certificate in Shift Boss (Mine Captain certification is an added advantage).
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Mine Supervisor in an open-pit mining operation .
- Strong knowledge of mining equipment, processes, and the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703).
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and collaborate effectively in demanding field environments.
- A valid Ghanaian driver’s license and capability to drive in rough terrain .
