SOS Children’s Villages International is in search of qualified, hard-working, and experienced individuals to apply for the positions below:

1. Child Protection Officer

Qualifications:

  • A degree in social work, child welfare, psychology, or a similar discipline. A master’s degree provides an advantage.
  • Proven experience creating and implementing child protection initiatives in development settings.
  • Strong knowledge of child rights, child protection legislation, and gender concerns.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in community mobilization, awareness campaigns, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the local context and cultural sensitivity, as well as skill in local languages in the Northern Region, are preferred.
  • In a dynamic setting, the ability to operate both independently and collaboratively is required.
  • Fluency in English.

2. Project Coordinator

Qualifications

  • Obtain a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, development studies, project management, or a similar field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience managing agricultural or development projects, with an emphasis on sustainable practices and improved livelihoods.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection and gender concerns in development settings.
  • Outstanding leadership and team management skills.
  • Extensive experience in financial management and budget supervision.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge about Ghana’s agriculture sector and the challenges that smallholder farmers face.
  • In a dynamic setting, the ability to operate both independently and collaboratively is required.
  • Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of the Northern Region’s local languages is advantageous.
