Position Title: Senior Tax Supervisor
Job Description
The Senior Tax Supervisor is in charge of making sure that tax reporting, tax planning, and tax compliance are done correctly, that accurate tax returns are filed, and that an organization’s tax obligations are kept to a minimum.
The person in this position will help the tax manager in Ghana.
Job Responsibilities
- Check that tax laws are being followed (CIT, WHT, VAT, PIT, etc.)
- Work on audits from the outside and reports from the inside.
- Work on projects to get cash back and tax credits.
- Help the manager with one-off projects.
Competences and actions:
- Problem-solving skills include estimating the size and complexity of a project, coming up with creative and original solutions, being analytically minded, and being able to make good decisions.
- Communicating: Has good oral and written communication skills, focuses on customer service, and talks to peers, subordinates, and senior managers often.
- Driving change: encourages all team members to question their own assumptions, meets organizational goals and supports company initiatives with creativity, flexibility, and an understanding of their own complexity, and iterates to improve practice norms.
- Integrity: Acts in a way that is consistent with moral principles; creates a culture of quality, safety, and excellence along with an environment where anything is possible.
Requirements
- We’re looking for people who are willing to learn, resourceful, observant, creative, ambitious and have good teamwork skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in finance, with a focus on tax.
- Chartered Accountant – ACCA, CPA, and so on.
- Having worked for a multinational or one of the “Big 4” audit firms before will be a plus.
