POSITION: Coordinator, Ghana Survivor Network

For more than 25 years, International Justice Mission (IJM) has led efforts to shield vulnerable individuals from violence by enhancing the response of the Justice System. The Ghana office collaborates with local authorities to save trafficking victims, hold offenders accountable, restore survivors to safety and wellness, and assists law enforcement in creating a lasting secure future.
The Need
As we enhance our worldwide influence to shield 500 million individuals from violence, we are looking for a Coordinator for the Ghana Survivor Network for a one-year fixed-term contract. This role will closely collaborate with the Senior Lead, Global Survivor Network (GSN), IJM Ghana, to empower survivors to advocate on trafficking issues in communities, churches, and government, fostering sustainable change and safeguarding those at risk of trafficking. The Coordinator, GSN reports straight to the National Director of Advocacy and Partnerships. This position entails executing strategies to recognize, educate, and support survivors in becoming advocates and to impact national and regional policies regarding human trafficking. This is a temporarily fixed, on-site role that requires occasional travel to various locations nationwide.
This role is located in Accra, Ghana, and reports to the National Director of Advocacy and Partnerships; it is exclusively available for candidates authorized to work in Ghana.
Duties:
- Assist national and regional initiatives in establishing GSN chapters, offering empowerment and training to survivors, and formulating policies that guarantee the sustainability and endurance of GSN;
- Locate and enlist survivors to join national GSN chapters, enabling them to serve as advocates and develop into leaders of the movement;
- Build and sustain strategic connections with community and national groups, local and national influencers, and governmental stakeholders, and engage them to take action on issues related to GSN advocacy and execution;
- Create and uphold connections with the guardians of survivors if required;
- Give evaluations to subordinates and Management regarding survivor experiences in GSN and help enhance the overall effectiveness of the program;
- Assist in creating training materials for GSN members;
- Identify and offer training and mentorship opportunities for GSN members;
- Guarantee effective oversight and assessment of the GSN program by establishing feedback mechanisms from GSN participants and various stakeholders;
- Collaborate closely with the team to establish annual dashboard objectives and finalize pertinent country, regional, and global reports;
- Collaborate with the Communications and Media Coordinator to create storytelling opportunities;
- Assist in finding speaking opportunities and advocacy initiatives for GSN members; and
- Additional responsibilities as delegated.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or in a related field;
- At least three (3) years of practical experience in social work, ideally with a non-profit organization;
- At least two (2) years of experience in directly assisting survivors in a role related to advocacy;
- Firsthand engagement in public speaking, advocacy, and promoting awareness of essential human rights matters; and
- A solid grasp or experience of IJM’s casework and theory of transformation.
