POSITION: Chief Risk Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Look at the different risks that could affect the company, such as credit risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, market risk, regulatory compliance risk, etc.
- Set up risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines to effectively reduce risks that have been identified.
- Check the creditworthiness of people who might want to borrow money and make sure the right risk rating models are used.
- Use good tools and methods for risk monitoring to keep track of the company’s risk exposure all the time.
- Present findings and suggestions about risks to the management team on board as needed.
- Foster a risk-aware culture within the organization and promote a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
- Develop and keep up-to-date contingency plans to deal with potential crisis situations and make sure of business continuity in times of high risk.
- Organize monthly stress testing and semi-annual reserve test testing as required by the regulator.
Needed Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. It would be helpful to have an advanced degree or professional certification in risk management.
- Familiarity with what the Central Bank (Bank of Ghana) wants from financial institutions for risk management
- Proven experience of at least 5 years in a similar position in the financial sector, preferably in the savings and loans/banking sector;
- In-depth knowledge of savings and loans products, operations, and the regulatory landscape;
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies, risk modeling, and analytical tools;
- Strong understanding of credit risk management principles and practices.

- Must be a Ghanaian citizen and be able to work in a multicultural workplace. • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
Pay is in line with the market, and working conditions are good.
