Position Overview
The Human Resource Manager (HRM) is tasked with supervising ACET’s human resources strategy and operations, which encompass talent acquisition and management, performance evaluation, policy formulation, and adherence to organizational objectives and international standards. In partnership with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the HRM will guarantee that ACET promotes a culture of high performance, strong values, and legal compliance in the workplace. The HRM will oversee a team of five (5) staff members.
Responsibilities and Duties
In particular, the Human Resource Manager will carry out these responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Formulate and execute a cohesive HR strategy encompassing recruitment, employee development, performance evaluation, training, and succession planning.
- Counsel the CEO and ELT on human capital risks and opportunities associated with organizational strategy and initiatives.
- Act as the Chief Values Champion for ACET, advocating and sustaining the organization’s principles of efficiency, quality, and collaboration.
- Work together with Partnerships and Operations teams to evaluate talent requirements for strategic initiatives in the proposal and project design stages.
Recruitment & Talent Management
- Work alongside Directors and Program leaders to reach a consensus on staff composition to enhance ACET’s delivery portfolio.
- Sustain a roster of leaders and skilled professionals to facilitate succession planning and promote long-term organizational development.
- Offer strategic guidance on the employee lifecycle, encompassing onboarding, training, and development to enhance staff skills, retention, and offboarding.
Employee Involvement & Wellness
- Manage employee engagement and wellness programs that correspond with ACET’s HR strategy and broader organizational goals.
Performance Oversight
- Supervise the performance management system, ensuring evaluations are held consistently, significant, and foster employee development and organizational efficiency.
- Offer direction on feedback systems and performance enhancement strategies that align with ACET’s goals.
Policy Creation & Adherence
- Oversee the creation and ongoing enhancement of HR policies and procedures to guarantee legal adherence and the advancement of best practices.
- Create and oversee employment contracts to guarantee uniformity and legal validity for all employment conditions.
HR Systems and Data Administration
- Supervise the execution and administration of HR Information Systems (HRIS) to improve operational effectiveness in partnership with the ICT and Finance departments.
- Supply HR data and insights to management, aiding evidence-driven decision-making.
Workplace Relations & Dispute Resolution
- Serve as the main liaison for addressing employee relations matters, such as grievances and conflicts, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to legal standards.
- Encourage transparent dialogue among staff and management to cultivate a cooperative and inclusive workplace.
Understanding, Competencies, and Capabilities
- Exhibited proficiency in talent acquisition, talent development, performance evaluation, and HR operations.
- In-depth understanding of global labour regulations and human resources best practices.
- Demonstrated capability to guide HR teams and affect top management decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal, consulting, and conflict management abilities.
- Expertise in HRIS systems and HR data analysis.
- Capability to collaborate successfully across various cultures and areas
- Excellent abilities in written and spoken communication
- Motivational leader who promotes teamwork and advocates for the organization’s values and mission.
- Capability to synchronize HR strategies with organizational objectives, while managing personal challenges and tackling skills deficiencies and career advancement requirements.
- Adaptable and focused on solutions, capable of managing intricate HR issues in a changing setting.
- Strong integrity and dedication to ethical choices in every HR practice.
Needed Qualifications and Experience
- Qualification in Human Resource Management or a related discipline (Masters is preferred).
- Having a professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, SPHR, CIPD) is a significant benefit.
- 8–10 years of advancing HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position, preferably in an international and non-profit setting.
