HR Specialist and Commercial Business Partner at GBfoods Africa

At GBfoods, we offer cooking options in many countries in Europe and Africa, including Jumbo, Gallina Blanca, Erasco, Gino, Liebig, Star, Bama, D&L, Grand’Italia, and Bl Band, among others.

Our goal with “Celebrating local flavours” is to support and take care of each of the local communities we are a part of, as well as to bring out the true flavours of those communities. Some of our local brands have been in people’s homes for more than a hundred years. They have built their reputations as brands that people really like and that are deeply rooted in the local culture.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Help business leaders find, rank, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes. This is part of the business plan.
  • Help line managers predict and plan their talent pipeline needs based on the business or job strategy.
  • Implement and handle the right training for your employees.
  • Review with business leaders the key business success goals and how they affect talent.
  • Support long-term projects that are in line with the strategic plan.
  • Help leaders of business units give their employees chances to grow that are in line with current and future performance standards.
  • Develop and promote ways for workers to give feedback on a regular basis so they can help HR services and processes keep getting better.
  • When it makes sense, give employees expert help and coaching.
  • Understand and ask employees what they think, and try to guess their wants and worries.
  • To improve HR policies and efforts, look at the internal and external environments and compare them.
  • Find and encourage the sharing of best practices across departments to make improvements happen all the time.
  • Serve as a go-between for the line and HR to make sure that HR services meet the needs of internal clients.
  • Find new ways for HR to help the business and add value.
  • Keep up with the latest HR techniques and major trends.
  • Help build a strong attitude of leadership and coaching
  • Manage certain tasks based on the HR operational plan for the year and help with functional and cross-functional projects.

Requirements

  • Substantial business skills
  • There is a clear, full understanding of how people, other HR projects, and business strategy are all connected.
  • Ability to come up with clear, doable steps to support a business plan as a whole.
  • Being able to think of new ways for HR to help the business plan.
  • Capable of gathering and putting together a lot of numeric and qualitative data.
  • Ability to spot trends and make suggestions based on study of data.
  • Ability to connect with, motivate, and persuade people.
  • Ability to make and give training programs that are successful and relevant to specific groups.
  • Effective member of a team and networker
  • Strong social, customer service, and conversation skills
  • Knows a lot about HR policies, methods (like workforce planning and talent management), and practices for managing talent.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management, or a similar area. HR Certification is a plus.
  • At least 8 years of experience handling difficult problems between employees.
  • You should have a good understanding of different areas of human resources, such as pay practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and employment laws.
