POSITION: Gardener

Project Overview: 

• The MOVE project, aimed at enhancing market-oriented value chains for employment and growth in the ECOWAS region, concentrates on strengthening resilient cashew and rice value chains to aid in job and income generation in West Africa, partnering mainly with ECOWAS politically.
• The project is primarily financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), with additional funding from the European Union and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and is carried out in collaboration with various private and public partners. Countries involved in the MOVE intervention are Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria.

Role Overview: 

• In your position, you complete the tasks given to you efficiently and without delay, while consistently adhering to strict hygiene standards.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the MOVE and ABF buildings’ office spaces, which includes but is not limited to lawn care, managing shrubs, and other gardening duties.

Responsibilities:

• Make sure that all grass and nearby shrubs receive proper care every day.
• Guarantees that trees are properly trimmed and do not endanger vehicles or personnel.
• Verifies and confirms that all the potted plants inside the building are healthy and receive water each day before work begins.
• Make certain that all rubbish around the office grounds is removed appropriately.
• Oversee and manage waste disposal while ensuring a tidy environment for the MOVE and ABF project facilities and upkeep of compost.
• Carry out errands and finish additional duties to maintain the efficient operation of the office.
• Assist personnel in obtaining lunch within the office building.
• Notifies about damages to office spaces and equipment

Required Qualifications & Experience

• At least five years of professional experience in a similar position, along with references.

• Capability to recognize pests and parasites.
• Informed about waste management parasites.
• Capability to handle and dispose of potentially significant documents with care.
• Dependability and strong organizational abilities.
