POSITION: Exterminator
Description of Role
This is a full-time, on-site position for an Exterminator located in Accra. The Exterminator will oversee the inspection of properties, detect pest infestations, assess the suitable treatment, and carry out pest control actions to eradicate pests.
Main Duties
- Apply chemical solutions, powders, and gases onto or around the surfaces of a structure or home to eradicate pests.
- Recognize intruding pests, such as rats, termites, snakes, wasps, ants, spiders, mosquitoes, or bed bugs.
- Install mechanical traps and position bait.
- Eliminate deceased rodents upon completion of extermination.
- Make sure the house or building is vacant when the product is used.
- Ventilate the home following the application.
- Detect harm to assets.
- Examine the property to determine the porosity of walls and roof as well as potential entry points for pests.
- Reach areas that are infested.
- Slice or drill into structures to reach infested zones.
- Apply pesticides to the area.
- Clean and eliminate pesticides following their use.
- Examine initial reports and illustrations of affected zones and identify the necessary treatment to eradicate and prevent the return of the infestation.
- Assess area measurements that need to be addressed.
- Clear out obstructions to enable the application process.
- Align and secure the edges of tarpaulins over the structure and tape the vents to create an airtight seal while inspecting for any leaks.
- Oversee employees engaged in the application.
- Look for potential leaks or vulnerabilities.
- Make use of suitable safety gear and equipment while applying.
- Spray power chemicals onto surfaces.
Requirements
- Understanding various pests, their habits, and successful management techniques.
- Experience in the safe and effective handling and application of pesticides.
- Physical fitness and capacity to operate in diverse environmental settings
- Excellent focus on details and ability to solve problems
- Outstanding communication and customer service abilities.
- A certification or license in pest management is an advantage.
