ROLE: Core Banking Systems Officer
Purpose
Help manage the availability, continuity, and capacity of the Core banking system platform. Planning and putting changes into action, as well as managing the shift system, to make sure all systems run smoothly and the right information is available. Managing people, building, and coming up with a plan.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science
- Core Qualification or relevant certifications.
- Three years of experience running mainframe operations and setting up shift structures.
Responsibilities
- Influence, encourage, and manage the use of systems and facilities in a way that saves money.
- Drive business profits in the context of cost management by using IT solutions to improve the performance of hardware and software and recover lost money.
- Create a culture of IT service that builds rewarding relationships, suggests new ideas, and lets others give great customer service.
- Develop and maintain objective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, such as end users, subject matter experts (SMEs), project managers, and senior staff, by contributing to business requirements.
- Operationally manage, monitor, alert, and escalate for a variety of platforms, such as Mid-range, Personal Computers, Networks, and Enterprise Management.
- Follow all steps of IT development, understand them, and put them into action. Also, meet governance requirements in terms of laws and audits.
- Make sure that all contracts and SLAs for required hardware and software are up to date and that all metrics are met.
- Support and automate the production environment for both the Technical and Development support teams.
- Help with the things that are done when disaster recovery processes are activated or turned off.
- Find ways to improve the quality of the services, processes, and systems you already have to make your business run more smoothly.
- As needed, help with all incident and problem management.
