Farm Manager at Matrix Innovation Limited
Responsibilities:
- Looking at the current operations, crops, animals, staff, and financial documents and suggesting ways to make them better.
- Making plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and making sure employees know what is expected of them.
- Going to the different departments to check on crops, and animals, and to test the soil and water.
- Making sure there are always enough seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, and other supplies.
- Making plans for equipment and machinery repairs, maintenance, and replacement.
- Taking care of marketing and selling farm products like fruit, vegetables, milk, meat, and grain.
- Making sure that all employees follow health and safety rules.
- Helping to hire and train new employees.
- Working with senior staff to make budgets and reports on finances.
- Making connections with other professionals and keeping up with changes in agricultural science.
Needed Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, or equivalent.
- You should take more classes in business management or administration.
- Have worked in the field for at least 10 years.
- Having experience as a manager would be a plus.
- A strong interest in farming.
- Good problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- The ability to make choices when things are stressful.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to work extra hours when necessary.
