ROLE: Account Management Specialist
Job Description
Manages relationships and business plans for less complex accounts (regional, single business unit, internal, etc.). When paired with a more senior account manager, you may be responsible for larger, more difficult accounts. Selling the organization’s products to designated business customers in order to meet sales targets, growing existing customer relationships, and implementing account sales plans in support of company strategy are all responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Develops, manages, and maintains commercial connections with assigned customers to support the sales strategy of the organization.
- Supports expansion or new business prospects, as well as cost-cutting initiatives.
- Extends and broadens the sale of items and services to existing customers.
- At appropriate levels, she leads, supervises, and directs communication and interfaces with customers.
- Contracts are negotiated and implemented with accounts as authorized.
- Account-related production and distribution concerns are managed.
- In charge of building and sustaining strong customer relationships.
- Acts as an advocate for the customer’s voice within the organization.
- Supports account strategy and collaborates with key business stakeholders to achieve optimal results.
- Responsible for monitoring customer happiness and developing data-driven action plans to enhance satisfaction.
- Accounts receivable deliverables are managed, including payment conditions negotiations.
- Promotes Customer Focus Six Sigma initiatives to increase customer relationships
- Account development across business units in support of account strategy
Qualifications
Skills
- Sense Making: Develops and/or fosters an intimate grasp of the customer’s wants, behaviors, and/or purchasing journey through a series of diagnostic and probing questions and research. Complex information from internal and external resources is synthesized to provide specific solutions for internal or external customers.
- Account Planning identifies objectives to drive company and/or account strategy execution by analyzing current status in relation to where it needs to be and allows tracking of progress against targets.
- Account and territory-level sales strategies and plans are planned ahead of time based on the current pipeline. The health of the pipeline is checked by looking at its size, content, and progress. If necessary, changes are made to the sales strategy, plans, or high-impact activities, and sellers are coached to meet sales goals.
- Writing a Value Proposition: Figures out what internal and external customers want based on how they can be used; explains and shows products, solutions, and services to find their strengths and weaknesses so that they can meet specific customer needs and stand out from competitors.
- Pricing Strategy: Creates pricing by aligning and gaining consensus with key stakeholders across functions in order to meet corporate objectives.
- Channel Awareness: In order to achieve organizational goals, explain and contextualize industry structure, dynamics, and path to market.
- Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that express a clear knowledge of the particular demands of multiple audiences.
- Building strong client relationships and providing customer-centric solutions are examples of customer focus.
- Holding oneself and others accountable for keeping commitments is a way to ensure accountability.
- Gaining the confidence and trust of people through honesty, integrity, and authenticity
Education, licensing, and certification
- A college, university, or comparable degree in marketing, sales, technology, or a related field is necessary, as is industry experience.
- This post may necessitate a license in order to comply with export controls or sanctions legislation.
Experience
- Significant relevant job experience is necessary, including past customer and/or product experience. Preference for purchasing/commercial contract discussion.
