Job Title: Digital Farming – Business Venture Lead

Role purpose
- Support the Africa Digital Farming business venture and lead for the Ghana strategy definition and implementation.
- Be the interface for the franchise new business model pilot operations between the Africa Venture Lead, the Ghana team, and external partners/customers in Ghana to ensure smooth and successful implementation of Pilot in 2023 and beyond
Key responsibilities and tasks
- Lead the workstream field operation in Ghana
- Manage the local team for the implementation of the pilot in Ghana
- Develop local partnerships and manage operational budget
- Be the interface for the digital tool development and test
- Ensure franchisees full compliance adhesion
- Ensure the operationalization of 2023 pilot in Ghana: Track and report activities related to the venture, Deliver the pilot in quality, time, and cost with the support of the field team
- Work closely with the others workstreams to ensure the implementation of the strategy
- Share regular feedbacks on the pilot progress, be proactive to propose corrective measures and how to further improve pilot implementations
- Be the contact for local strategic business partners, map potentially relevant stakeholders and develop partnerships
- Support the development & the implementation of a digital tool to connect farmers to the franchisee’s services
- Manage local budget and ensure good reporting,
- Directly manage the field support team (3 staff)
- Be the interface between external stakeholders in Ghana and the project team
- Ensure good communication flow within the team in Ghana and West Africa, as well as the EMEA New Business Model team
- Contribute to develop and adapt our value proposition
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- University degree in agronomy or business
- Knowledge in Ghana Agriculture / agronomical skills
- Interest for digital overall & digital farming
- Business model sensitivity would be a plus
- Good communication skills, oral and writing
- Interest for innovation and disruptive business models
- Language: fluent in English, Dagbani or/and French will be a plus
- Good knowledge of Ghana Agriculture challenges / agronomical skills
- Interest for digital overall & digital farming
- Good communication skills, both verbal and writing
- Ability to travel in remote area, it is anticipated that 30% of the time will be spend in the field in the Northern province. During the cropping season up to 80% of the time.
