JOB TITLE: GHANA BREWING MANAGER

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is managing and coordinating the brewing department activities with overall responsibility for people, plant, process, product, quality and management systems in order to deliver compliance to the AB InBev and global brewing standards in the most efficient, effective, safe and reliable manner.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Firstly, Ensure overall reliability of production process optimisation and asset management and plant availability
  • Secondly, Adherence to AB InBev and global brewing quality standards
  • Thirdly, Brewing strategy and implementation
  • Moreover, Translate and implement brewing strategies within the framework of the manufacturing and business strategies
  • More so, Ensure disciplined execution of standard work practices at the regional brewery level
  • Additionally, Ensure that brand and brewing process standards are met
  • Furthermore, Ensure that brewing technical and brand audits are conducted as per the QA audit schedule – and deviations identified and managed through the non-conformance management process
  • Then, Adherence to the brewing and IBMS technical and business audit schedule
  • Not just that but also, People management
  • Also, Facilitate team problem solving and decision making
  • Thereafter, Manage people in alignment with VPO behaviors
  • Besides that, Lead the brewing team in a manner that engenders ownership, empowerment and team interaction
  • Most importantly, Lead the development of brewing team goals and ensure these are communicated and understood by team members
  • Again, Conduct regular brewing team goal review sessions, and conduct regular one-on-one and performance reviews
  • Afterwards, Ensure training need analyses are conducted and training plans developed for team members
  • Likewise, Ensure appropriate competencies are developed in the team, and ensure cross skilling occurs within the engineering team
  • Next is you Provide coaching and mentorship to all brewing levels
  • Last but not least, Management of technical trainees, providing guidance, supervising development and actively participating in trainee checkouts
  • Finally, Ongoing optimisation of brewing quality and production processes

Qualification & Experience:

  • BSc Degree or equivalent in Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Engineering
  • Completed Traineeship
  • Checked out brewer
  • Master Brewer IBD qualification obtained or additional Business qualification advantageous
  • Min – 4 to 5 years production experience, of which 4 years operating at a management level within brewing     
  • Demonstrated experience in driving commercial decisions in a brewery (financial, operational, people)
  • A superior performance track record indicating a disciplined work ethic with passion at maintaining quality
  • Solid understanding of performance management principles
  • Proven team leadership skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability at implementing effective problem solving /Analytical problem solver
  • Proven financial competence with the ability to control budgets
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of standard work practices and other VPO methodologies
  • Enquiring and curious mind-set
  • Highly assertive
