How to Apply for a Chinese Visa

1. Complete the requirements

Collecting each of the aforementioned documents is the initial step. Prioritize documents that could take some time to obtain, including employment credentials or bank statements. Bring any additional supporting documents you may have, even if not on the list but you believe will aid your case, in case requested.

Please DO NOT send false documentation. Forged items result in rejection right away.

2. Submit your application

Once you have all the required paperwork, you can submit your application. No need for an appointment, you can always walk in.

Embassy of the People’s Republic of China

2nd Floor, the World Center,
330 Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue,
Makati City, Metro Manila

You will receive a RELEASE SLIP, which lists the deadline for claiming your passport, after submitting all the required paperwork.

Processing Time & Fees

The processing time is typically 4 WORKING DAYS. However, if you’ve previously had a Chinese visa and want your passport or visa sooner, you can pay for expedited processing. The additional fees for each visa are as follows:

  • Express service (third working day release): P1100
  • Rush service (second working day release): P1700

Just to be clear, NON-FIRST-TIMERS are the only ones who can use these settings.

3. Claim your passport

On the day specified on the release form given to you, visit the consulate office. It is simpler and faster to retrieve your passport than it is to submit your application. Ask the door staff for another phone number. After making the money, you will receive the passport. There exist times designated just for releasing passports.

Once you get your passport, ideally one that includes a visa, double-check the details to make sure there are no typos.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How long does it take to process a Chinese visa?

Usually 4 BUSINESS DAYS. If you’ve already had a Chinese visa, you can choose to speed things up by paying an extra cost. The costs per visa are as follows:

  • Express service (release on the third business day): P1100
  • Second working day release (Rush service): P1700

The visa charge is in addition to these. The P1400 visa price pays in addition to the rush/express service fee.

2. How long is a Chinese tourist visa valid?

Typically six months. However, the average length of each visit is just 14 days.

3. Do I need to submit a single-, double-, or multiple-entry visa application?

Your travel plans and schedule will determine this. Apply for a single entry visa if your itinerary or aircraft arrangements indicate that you will only be entering China once. Go for a double-entry visa if you intend to enter, exit, and then reenter.

4. How much cash should I have on hand to get accepted?

Some web publications and travel agencies assert that you need at least P100,000 in your bank account.

5. On what grounds would my visa application be rejected?

This holds not only for the Chinese Embassy but also for other nations:

  • You cannot demonstrate that you plan to go back to the Philippines.
  • Also, you cannot demonstrate that you can afford this vacation financially.
  • Your records are inconclusive.
  • Lastly, you have an ambiguous or questionable goal in China.

6. Do I need to buy tickets to get approved?

You do not require airline tickets. It is NOT necessary to have actual tickets. A so-called FLIGHT RESERVATION, as opposed to actual tickets, is what you can submit. “Reservations” are the only evidence that you have banned these available airplane seats. Some airlines will retain your reservation for you.

7. Is it okay if I mail my application?

Applications submitted via mail are not accepted.
