Role Title: Shop Attendant
Position Description
The job holder will help the Shop Manager meet daily/monthly sales goals.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities of the job holder include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide outstanding service by supporting customers in obtaining what they desire.
- Assist with getting things and checking cost.
- Assist with the appealing display of books on the shelves.
- Assist with inventorying quick, slow, dated, and local products.
- Ensure the safe custody of the shop’s inventory and avoid stock shortages/losses or overages.
- Aid in the pre-listing of products for stock-taking.
- Take preventative measures to reduce shoplifting.
- After work, make sure all doors and windows are securely locked.
- Keep the shop and its environs tidy, including dusting books and shelves daily.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
- A diploma in Supply Chain Management/Procurement/Marketing from a reputable university is required, as is at least one year of relevant job experience following national service.
- Very imaginative thinking.
- Outstanding interpersonal abilities.
- Participant on a team.
- Being proactive.
- Strong sense of integrity.
- Results-driven.
