Alliance Française Accra, established in 1957, is an independent, non-profit organization subject to local law that encourages the exchange of cultural and linguistic values through civil society initiatives. We work to promote Franco-Ghanaian cultural exchanges, cultural diversity, and the French language out of a desire for mutual enrichment.
We are part of an international network with 837 facilities in 131 countries and are well-known for the quality of our French courses. As a recognized leader in teaching French as a foreign language, we provide tailored training for all levels (beginning to advanced and specialized courses), student goals, and characteristics, including children, students, professionals, and civil workers. We are also Ghana’s only exam center for globally recognized tests and diplomas (DELF, DALF, DAEFLE, TCF, and TEF). Each year, we welcome around 4,000 students.
Job Description
- Job Title: Accounts Assistant
- Location: Alliance Française Accra.
- Job Type: Full-time, in-person, one-year fixed-term contract (renewable).
Essential Responsibilities:
- Accountable for uploading transactions to Quickbooks Bank Reconciliations.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
- Preparing periodic reports to the director of treasury.
- Book stock management (includes advice on book orders)
- Follow up with debtors and manage debt collection.
- Invoicing and writing checks.
- Assist with statutory closing and financial statement preparation
- Prepare for the audit and ensure that it runs smoothly.
- Administrative duties as required.
Requirements:
- Must be Ghanaian or have permanent residency.
- Bachelor of Arts in Accounting or Finance.
- At least two years of experience in an accounting function.
- Understanding of Quickbooks or other accounting software.
- Associate’s degree in a similar discipline and job experience.
- Further education, experience, or certificates and licenses may be required.
- Strong typing skills, as well as proficiency with computers and accountancy applications.
- Excellent time management and verbal and written communication abilities.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Professional demeanor and a solid ethical code.
- Ability to multitask while remaining motivated and positive.
- A commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
Working hours: 40 hours per week. (Monday-Friday).
