Position Overview
- Title: Site Supervisor
- Department: Mining Support Services
- Geographical Region: AngloGold Iduapriem Location
Objective of Position
To support site management by making sure that the team and bench crew provide products and work effectively and safely at all times to maintain ongoing customer satisfaction and maximize profits.
Responsibilities
Functional Outputs
- To manage the daily operations at the location, guaranteeing seamless workflow, prompt task completion, and effective resource distribution.
- To guarantee that products are consistently delivered punctually and completely according to customer requirements.
- Collaborate with various departments and outside stakeholders to guarantee seamless and effective operations.
- Track and document advancements, recognizing problems or challenges that could occur during operations and applying suitable remedies. To promptly notify management of problems that are beyond control for resolution.
- To guarantee that count discrepancies are resolved through precise counts, updates of SAP, and effective site stock management.
- To guarantee rigorous compliance with safety protocols, rules, and regulations to avoid accidents and reduce risks.
- To offer direction, instruction, and assistance to the team to guarantee peak performance, efficiency, and compliance with operational and safety protocols.
- To consistently conduct internal safety audits to enhance safety consciousness and foster the correct mindset within the team.
- Enforce and apply all company policies, procedures, and guidelines concerning work performance and safety.
- Keep precise and current records, such as daily reports, safety files, and maintenance logs.
- Encourage a constructive and professional workplace that enhances collaboration while consistently maintaining excellent relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Guarantee adherence to environmental laws and optimal practices.
- To establish a quality culture across the workforce by fulfilling customer and organizational needs.
- To guarantee that discipline is consistently upheld at all times.
Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree at minimum, ideally in Mining Engineering.
- At least 3 years of work experience in the explosives or mining sector.
- Legal qualification/ possessor of Blasting Certificate of Competency from MinCom.
- Proficient understanding of existing Explosives and Mining Laws and Regulations.
- Comprehensive understanding of open pit mining as well as underground methods and operations.
- Comprehensive understanding of techniques for evaluating blast performance and relevant equipment.
- Proven experience in a wide array of commercial explosives applications.
