POSITION: Accountant

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Makes statements of accounts for clients of Adverts.
• Secondly, Gets the consolidated and other public funds keep track of them and pay them out.
• Thirdly, Starts putting together monthly and yearly financial reports.
• Puts into action approved accounting and financial policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and a work plan to help the Agency reach its goals.
• Finds ways to control risk in financial transactions and procedures and suggests changes to the Assistant Manager to be put into place.
• Looks over payment vouchers, invoices, and other documents and sends them through General Ledger to be approved and paid.
• Then, Reconciles items on the balance sheet and/or General Ledger for the manager to look over.
• Is in charge of keeping all payment vouchers and journals’ data and records in the approved accounting software up-to-date and in good shape.
• Keeps records of all accounting transactions for all accounts and makes sure they are up to date.
• Also, Set up a way to pay employees their benefits according to their agreed-upon terms of service.
• Is in charge of putting together the staff’s monthly payroll for approval and payment.
• Looks over the monthly payroll reports to find any mistakes that need to be fixed.
• Takes the lead in making bank reconciliation statements every month.
• Communicate with approved banks and third parties to make sure problems with financial transactions are solved quickly.
• Makes SSNIT, VAT, and PAYE returns so that they can be sent to Statutory Institutions for payment.
• Takes part in annual audit activities and gives input.
• Finally, Helps make monthly or quarterly financial reports (like Income Statements, Balance Sheets, etc.) and any other report that has to do with the job function.

Needed Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, plus six years of work experience.
• A good understanding of how accounting and auditing tools and methods work and how to use them.
• A good understanding of tax laws and the rules that go with them.
• Have a good understanding of and experience with making cash flow forecasts and cash flow analyses.
• The ability to come up with answers to new financial problems.
• Good knowledge of money, including how to plan investments and divide up assets.
• A good understanding of how to manage a portfolio of investments.
• Able to work with all types of employees and keep professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Good at talking to people and giving talks.
• Good planning and organizing skills.
• Able to finish projects on time and meet deadlines.
• Making good decisions based on careful analysis.
• Know how to use accounting software and tools, as well as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the internet.
• Leadership and people skills in a “team” environment
