POSITION: Material Planner

ROLE OBJECTIVE

The MRP lead and local material planner are essential for fulfilling supply chain business obligations, ensuring uniform service across all brands down to the SKU level. The Material Planner oversees Raw and/or Packaging material requests to guarantee sufficient support for the production schedule and manages inventory within working capital limits.

It is also essential that both Suppliers and Supplier Management comprehend material needs while organizing and scheduling the delivery of materials to guarantee seamless production and prompt stock delivery. The position entails assessing inventory amounts, predicting future needs, and collaborating with suppliers to enhance supply chain effectiveness. WHAT WILL BE YOUR PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Evaluate stock levels and predict demand to identify material needs for every production facility.
  • Cultivate and uphold robust connections with suppliers to guarantee dependable and prompt delivery of materials.
  • Work with various teams, such as production and procurement, to rank material orders according to manufacturing plans and demand predictions.
  • Track inventory quantities and execute plans to reduce stock shortages and surplus items, in line with Unilever’s sustainability objectives.
  • Spot chances for reducing costs and enhancing efficiency in the supply chain while following Unilever’s ethical sourcing standards.
  • Create reports and deliver insights to aid in decision-making efforts and ongoing enhancement projects.
  • Keep informed about industry trends and market conditions to foresee possible material shortages or price changes.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable regulations, Unilever’s guidelines, and quality benchmarks.

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related area.
  • 2 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or material planning positions, ideally within a manufacturing or production-related setting.
  • Expertise in inventory control and business-oriented software such as ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with leading industry practices, compliance regulations, and new developments in supply chain management.

  • Business Insight: Capacity to evaluate data, such as stock quantities, demand predictions, and vendor performance indicators, to make knowledgeable choices and enhance material planning procedures.
  • Supply Chain Management, inventory control, and material requirements planning: Comprehension of supply chain concepts and practices, encompassing inventory control, purchasing strategies, and logistics management.
  • Self-Mastery: Excellent spoken and written communication abilities to work with diverse teams, foster proactive relationships with suppliers, and deliver precise instructions and updates about material needs. Skill in effectively prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and adjusting to shifting priorities in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
  • Meticulous: Careful attention to detail in overseeing inventory amounts, monitoring orders, and pinpointing discrepancies or possible problems within the supply chain.
  • Commitment to high performance: Ability to recognize and tackle issues in material availability, production timelines, or supplier efficiency to maintain seamless operations.
