POSITION: Engineering Store Clerk

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE 

The Engineering Stores Clerk at Unilever oversees and maintains inventory records for spare parts, tools, fuels, and maintenance materials utilized in plant operations. The position guarantees precise inventory levels, correct storage, and prompt distribution of engineering items to assist maintenance and production teams. This role demands a keen eye for detail, skills in inventory management, and compliance with safety and quality regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Stock Control 

  • Receive, maintain, and distribute engineering spare parts, tools, and consumables, including fuels, to maintenance and Boiler operations teams.
  • Keep precise inventory records utilizing Unilever’s ERP system (e.g., SAP MM or SAP PM).
  • Perform routine inventory checks, cycle counts, and audits to maintain inventory precision.
  • Adopt FIFO (First-In-First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expired-First-Out) methods to avoid obsolescence.

Store Management & Logistics 

  • Label and arrange spare parts effectively for straightforward identification and access.
  • Aid in restocking spare parts by overseeing minimum and maximum inventory levels.
  • Guarantee prompt delivery of required materials to assist maintenance work orders.
  • Inform the Stores Manager about any damaged, outdated, or missing items for necessary action.

Adherence & Security 

  • Adhere to Unilever’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies when storing and managing materials.
  • Make sure hazardous materials are stored appropriately in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Keep the store tidy and well-organized to avoid accidents and enhance efficiency.

Documentation and Reporting 

  • Revise inventory records and stock movement reports in SAP or alternative inventory management systems.
  • Create daily, weekly, and monthly reports regarding inventory levels and usage patterns.
  • Assist with audits and inspections by making sure all records and documents are current.

Experiences & Qualifications

  • A degree or bachelor’s in supply chain management, engineering, logistics, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of experience in inventory management, storekeeping, or warehouse operations, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with SAP MM (Material Management) or other inventory management systems is beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of engineering spare components and industrial machinery.

Skills

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and ERP applications (such as SAP).
  • Capacity to operate in a rapid, high-stress setting.
