POSITION: Head of Accounting
Job Description
We are a top civil engineering and construction company looking for an exceptionally qualified Head of Accounting to manage all financial activities and guarantee the reliability of our accounting procedures. This position demands a strategic mindset coupled with a strong technical foundation in finance and accounting, ideally in the construction or engineering sector. The chosen applicant will oversee the accounting division, assist with project-oriented financial reports, and guarantee adherence to regulatory and tax standards, directly aiding the company’s ongoing expansion and operational excellence.
Main Duties
- Oversee all accounting functions such as Accounts Payable/Receivable, General Ledger, Project Costing, Fixed Assets, and Payroll.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings and produce precise financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Oversee project budgets, billing timelines, and cash flow in collaboration with project managers and the commercial team.
- Supervise job costing and guarantee precise distribution of project expenses and income.
- Facilitate external audits and guarantee adherence to tax submissions, legal standards, and sector-specific financial obligations.
- Implement and uphold internal controls to protect company resources and guarantee effective operations.
- Collaborate with management to create budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Examine financial performance and deliver practical recommendations to aid strategic choices.
- Oversee and guide a group of accountants and finance experts to promote excellent performance and career growth.
- Suggest and carry out enhancements to systems, policies, and procedures linked to financial operations.
