POSITION: Field Service Engineer
This role will aid in the development, standardization, and implementation of technical training (including mentoring/development of sales representatives), application processes/protocols and commercial tools, capturing technical information, creating and sharing best practices, assisting in the preparation of commercial proposals, and leading the creation of external case histories and technical presentations and papers.
Tasks & Obligations
- Upholding the utmost safety standards to guarantee that there are no incidents or accidents in the workplace.
- Account retention by cultivating and sustaining continuous relationships with Key Decision Makers and overseeing the necessary communication procedures at customer locations with the essential individuals.
- Collaborating with fellow team members and resource groups as needed to guarantee that customer deliverables are achieved and upheld.
New Work
- Conducting preliminary survey tasks to identify specific customer site needs when new applications and equipment initiatives are being evaluated. Having the ability to compile a proposal and finalize plans for a trip, encompassing all logistical and financial aspects.
- The ability to evaluate specific customer site constraints and obstacles, comprehend and quantitatively describe the necessary scope of work for the successful installation and commissioning of Solenis application and monitoring equipment on-site, including extra components, spare parts, tools, unforeseen tasks, and other various activities needed on-site.
- Collaborating with the engineering manager to ensure that the sourcing process for all components of each project is completed promptly, followed by the planning, approval, and execution of each project from start to finish.
Routine Work
- Carry out all planned service tasks at our different customer locations punctually and as arranged by their supervisor.
- Collaborate with the sales team to guarantee growth in sales at all customer locations.
- Collaborate with sales representatives to create daily tasks aimed at securing and expanding our business.
- Make sure all necessary communications are occurring with our customers regarding inventory, testing, and equipment.
- Concentrate on eliminating routine assessments or / and service tasks from sales representatives.
- Deliver all reports to clients in the designated format promptly.
- Respond promptly to inquiries for information from both customers and managers.
- Oversee chemical stock to guarantee that shortages do not occur. Ensure we allocate adequate lead time for every product.
- Inspect all feed machinery to ensure there are no problems.
- Initial maintenance on machinery.
Troubleshooting specifics:
- Gathering samples from different process streams and performing laboratory tests.
- Examination of process water, usage of process reagents, boilers, towers, osmosis, waste/tailing water, and various water treatment applications within the Heavy Industry sector.
- Reports and data organization
- Examine, measure coupons and additional system adjustments and sanitation.
- Manual cleaning of side-stream filtration systems through backwashing
- Examine, preserve and administer shock/slug doses of chemical product inventories.
- Assessment of the functioning of chemical measurements
- Oversee the upkeep of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Verifying the function of dosing pumps and all other devices.
- Assist the operators at WTP and STP facilities with technical support.

- To adhere to all EHS guidelines and protocols.
- To adhere to all environmental regulations and protocols.
- To inform their supervisor about all accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Advocate for Responsible Care principles
- Engage in training as needed.
- Engage in discussions concerning all issues related to EH&S.
- Keep cleanliness at all times.
Qualifications Required
- A degree in Engineering or significant relevant experience in place of a degree is necessary for Higher or Intermediary Education.
- Experience in service within the Water treatment or Minerals Processing sector is essential.
- Customer orientation – The Capability to meet customer demands and requirements. Should be professional and assured when interacting with both internal and external customers.
- Achieving Outcomes – Meet strategic business KPIs. Enthusiastic about achieving success and providing operational excellence, while promoting best practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities accompanied by a genuine service-oriented mindset.
- Electrical / Electrotechnical worker’s permit
- English proficiency is necessary (having a native language will be considered an advantage).
- French as an extra benefit
- Field Training offered by Solenis.
- Permit to operate a vehicle
