Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist

The center achieves this by conducting research, analyzing policies, engaging the public, and forming partnerships. CDD-Ghana uses solid research and ideas to encourage public discussion and influence government policies.

Job Description

Location: Accra

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist will be part of the M&E team responsible for overseeing the organization’s performance and learning through effectively using M&E information in its programs and projects. Working under the guidance of the Director of Programs and closely with Program Managers, the M&E Specialist will monitor and evaluate CDD-Ghana’s projects to ensure they meet their goals efficiently and on time. This person will report to the Director of Programs and work with project team leaders and other specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Program Coordinators to ensure timely reporting of M&E information and keep records updated.
  • Create a database to track all programs and projects while ensuring accountability through regular data updates.
  • Monitor project performance and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Develop M&E plans for all projects and ensure they are followed.
  • Keep work plans and performance management plans updated for all projects.
  • Alert team leaders about any issues that may cause delays in project activities.
  • Ensure inclusivity issues, such as gender and disability, are integrated into all projects.
  • Develop ways to share knowledge and encourage learning within the organization.
  • Analyze project impacts and document best practices for learning.
  • Track progress and expenses for programs.
  • Suggest strategies to improve project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Report regularly on project activities and assist in preparing final reports.
  • Help project staff use M&E tools effectively.

Required Skills and Experience:

Functional Competencies:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of Results-Based Management (RBM).
  • Proficient in web-based M&E systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong rapport with partners, donors, and project staff.
  • A positive and energetic approach to work.

Education Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, Mathematics, or a related field.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least five years of experience in designing and implementing Results-Based Management for development projects.
  • Experience in creating tools for data collection and analysis.
  • Familiarity with statistical software like SPSS, and Excel, and strong computer skills.
  • Strong training and facilitation skills.

Language Requirements: Fluency in written and spoken English.
