A respected company is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Agricultural Extension Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Farmer Communication: Share vital information with farmers regarding crops, livestock, natural resources, irrigation practices, water management, and farming tools.
- Methodology Promotion: Advocate for innovative farming techniques and offer guidance on best practices.
- Training Provision: Deliver training sessions and skills development opportunities in areas such as conservation agriculture and effective water management.
- Problem Identification: Conduct farm visits to help identify issues that farmers may not recognize.
- Event Organization: Arrange study groups, demonstrations, and lectures, and distribute relevant literature.
- Stakeholder Support: Facilitate dialogue and consultation meetings with stakeholders and collaborate with various parties.
- Report Preparation: Complete reports based on field visits.
- Technical Services: Provide technical support services, including seed and soil testing.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must have experience as an Agriculture Technician Expert.
- Should be knowledgeable in Plant Protection Regulatory Services.
- Ability to deliver Agriculture Education and Training to both internal and external audiences is essential.
- Familiarity with the registration of new agricultural products is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and expertise in teaching and knowledge sharing are required
- Minimum qualification: HND from an accredited tertiary institution.
Location: Kumasi
