POSITION: Sales Account Owner

Job Overview

The Sales Account Owner is part of the company’s sales team. They help make money for the company by building and managing relationships with customers. Their job includes meeting customers in person, taking care of customer accounts, and promoting the company’s services to grow those accounts. Finding new customers, making plans for visits, meeting clients, and giving sales talks. Understanding what clients need and offering customized solutions, giving price quotes and closing profitable deals. Attending seminars and conferences, and planning for future sales.

This job usually includes selling and managing customer accounts. It focuses on building good relationships with customers to understand what they need and to offer customized solutions that help meet sales goals.

Job Duties

  • Consistently boosting import and export sales by focusing on specific sales efforts.
  • Finding new business chances, keeping an eye on market trends, looking after current customers, and searching for new potential clients for both import and export businesses.
  • Make sure to communicate well with customers and other departments during the sales process, starting from the quote or agreement until the shipment is booked and confirmed on the ships.
  • Promote a culture of marketing in everyday work and the organization, and make sure that reporting is done correctly.
  • Make regular visits to new and current customers to keep and grow the company’s list of clients and make sure reports are done on time and accurately.
  • Make and carry out plans to grow customer accounts that fit with the company’s goals.
  • Watch and assess client performance data to find ways to improve and increase sales.
  • Create and show ideas, product demos, and sales talks.
  • Give regular updates and reports to management about the status of accounts, sales predictions, and how well we are doing in reaching our goals.
  • Quickly and professionally handle and fix client problems or complaints by working with the customer service team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in maritime, shipping, business, communication, marketing, or similar fields.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar job.
  • Good at building relationships with others, thinking through issues, and finding solutions.
  • Good at reading, writing, and speaking in English and local languages.
  • Knowing extra languages like Chinese or Spanish is a plus.
  • Good at using Microsoft Office programs like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as web-based and email tools.
  • Eager to boost sales and provide excellent customer service.
  • Great people skills.
  • Good understanding of the shipping industry in Ghana.
