Premier Poultry intends to be Ghana’s premier smallholder-focused poultry firm. Our goal is to help rural households become healthier and wealthier by providing them with high-quality, vaccinated, brooded, and inexpensive improved dual-purpose chickens.
Premier Chicken is backed by well-known foreign investors with a track record of chicken sector success, including market leaders in Ethiopia (EthioChicken), Rwanda, and Uganda (Uzima).

Job Description.

The marketing officer at Premier Poultry Limited is responsible for enhancing the firm’s image and profitability by planning, budgeting, and implementing marketing efforts that align with company objectives. The ideal applicant is responsible for ensuring that Premier Poultry Limited’s brand, culture, and uniqueness are clearly expressed, conveyed, understood, and consistent across all activities, including client interaction and promotion initiatives. Act with authority to establish both internal and external relationships to capitalize on all prospects for increasing Premier Poultry Limited’s brand equity. The position requires substantial national travel.

Key Specific Responsibilities

  • Create a nationwide plan to establish a strong brand that is fit for purpose and will support Premier Poultry Limited’s commercial goals.
  • Develop and implement a brand research and monitoring programme to monitor the brand and gain knowledge of its perception.
  • Make informed judgments about brand growth, support new brand activities, and ensure that the brand’s values and culture are appropriately represented.
  • Working with a legal and compliance expert to ensure that the brand collateral is registered for trademark and intellectual property rights when needed and that the value is acknowledged.
  • Implement the brand guidelines, ensuring that they are followed and adapted correctly.
  • To maximise brand profitability, plan and manage the advertising and promotion (A&P) budget and spending.
  • Build ideas and collaborate with the sales and operations team, as well as exclusive agents, to guarantee the brand’s potential is maximized across all sites and the agent network, and to build plans as needed.
  • Define the communications and media plan, brief agencies, and monitor the implementation.
  • Analyze the results of the strategy and report them to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Respond to requests from sales, grants, operations, finance, and HR teams.
  • Monitor and report on actions to your immediate supervisor and the senior management team (SMT), and give pertinent information for strategic decisions.
  • Work in close coordination with regional sales managers and other members of the marketing department.
  • Build ties with various internal departments and provide monthly and ad hoc reports.

  • Develop and implement a marketing communications strategy and integrated brand marketing communications plan to support the overall brand strategy.
  • Strong stakeholder planning will ensure that marketing communications plans include both internal and external customers.
  • Monitor customer and consumer reactions through focus groups and market research to inform brand communication planning. Produce marketing products through various channels such as TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, email, online campaigns, and roadshows.
  • Be in charge of selecting, managing, and maintaining positive working relationships with third-party marketing product vendors as needed.
  • Be responsible for and closely monitor the quality of marketing communications created, as well as the brand’s creative execution.
  • Perform all administrative activities related to this function.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the immediate supervisor and SMT member.

Required Skill or Experience

Experience

  • A minimum of three years of direct experience in the relevant area following an undergraduate degree in MARETING AND RELATED FIELD.
  • Practical experience with brand management campaigns, preferably for rural audiences.
  • Successfully built a brand through various marketing channels. Utilized consumer research to drive brand execution.
  • Experience briefing and collaborating with external vendors, advertising agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Successfully engaged all stakeholders in changing their behaviour towards marketing communications.
  • Capable of influencing decision-making and management buy-in in matrix organizations.
  • A strong understanding of marketing principles is essential for brand building and promotion. Analytical abilities in brand research and market trends are also required.
  • Good understanding of various media platforms for different audiences.
  • Numerate, capable of managing budgets and analysing financial data
  • Demonstrate the capacity to encourage yourself and others throughout the organization, as well as obtain the cooperation and involvement of key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; competent in responding directly to individual inquiries.
  • Competent in MS Office, notably Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other apps.
