POSITION: Treasury Accountant 

GBfoods offers culinary solutions in Europe and Africa with prominent local brands such as Jumbo, Gallina Blanca, Erasco, Gino, Liebig, Star, Bama, D&L, Grand’Italia, and Blå Band, among others. GBfoods Africa operates in 24 countries, including a regional office in Accra, Ghana.

Role:

Reporting to the Treasury Coordinator:

The Treasury Accountant will oversee bank reconciliation, payment, and settlement activities, as well as ensure that all payments are processed accurately and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day treasury activities, including cash and bank balance management.
  • SAP payment processes are used to prepare and execute all payments, both local and foreign.
  • Maintain accurate records of all payment transactions and report on them.
  • Support other departments with treasury-related concerns.
  • Daily liquidity and bank balance reports for all accounts
  • Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations within scope.
  • Follow up on all bank payments to ensure proper execution and escalate any inconsistencies.
  • Assist with the month-end closing procedure as needed.

Requirements:

Technical Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a similar discipline.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in treasury accounting or a related job.
  • An in-depth understanding of SAP Treasury Payment Processes is required.

Behavioural Competencies

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Capability to work independently and balance different priorities.
  • Excellent communication abilities (both written and verbal).
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
