Newmont Africa Operations has two gold mining operations in Ghana: the Ahafo Mine in the Brong-Ahafo area and the Akyem Mine in the Eastern region. Ghana also prioritizes near-mine exploration and development to replenish gold reserves on a yearly basis. Newmont Africa also operates early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.
