POSITION: Transport Officer
A well-known company in Tema’s industrial centre is looking for a skilled, experienced, and driven individual to work as a Transportation Officer.
Job Duties
- Coordinate and schedule the deployment of vehicles for transporting goods and personnel, ensuring that resources are used efficiently.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance and repair schedules to ensure that all transportation equipment is in safe and efficient working order.
- Implement and implement transportation rules and processes to ensure compliance with legal requirements and organizational standards.
- Manage and handle any logistical issues that develop during transportation operations, such as delays or accidents, to reduce disruptions.
- Maintain excellent service standards by supervising the training and performance of transportation professionals, including drivers and logistical support personnel.
- Prepare and manage the transportation department’s budget, which includes costs for petrol, maintenance, and labour.
- To get favourable conditions, negotiate contracts with third-party vendors and service providers, such as maintenance firms and fuel suppliers.
- Create and implement plans to reduce the environmental impact of transportation operations, such as optimizing routes and encouraging the use of eco-friendly vehicles.
Qualifications & Experience
Requirements:
- HND/Degree in Logistics/Transport/Business related discipline or equivalent
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Excellent coordination and organizational skills
- Familiar with vehicle tracking and fuel management systems
- Good written, oral, and computer communication skills
- Resident in Tema and surrounding areas
