Job T: Cleaners
About the company
The goal of WaterAid is for everyone, everywhere to have clean water, good toilets, and good hygiene. Everyone should do these things as a matter of course. They help people get better health, better education, and better jobs. They help people.
Background
WaterAid Ghana (WAG) is an international non-governmental organization (INGO) that helps poor communities in Ghana get clean water, better sanitation, and better hygiene. WAG works with local partner groups that run community projects in different parts of the country on a day-to-day basis.
The Task at Hand
The Contract’s scope includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Offices, desks, meeting rooms, floors, and public areas are cleaned.
- All windows, bathrooms, and their fixtures need to be cleaned,
- Internal Waste management:
- Throw away food wrappers, food you don’t want, food that has gone bad, and more.
- Clean the dishes and cooking tools
- All of the buildings’ outside walls and ceilings need to be cleaned.
- Clean the walls and terraces.
Offices & Reception
- Every day, sweep, mop, and take out trash from all office and bathroom areas. Clean kitchen and empty trash cans.
- Furniture, glass windows, and skirting boards need to be dusted and cleaned.
- Help setting up the conference rooms for different meetings at any time. The assigned staff will have to work with the Front Desk Assistant to set up the room and make other arrangements for the meeting in a timely manner.
Washrooms
- Every day, clean and disinfect the toilet and wash basins:
- Supplies, like toilet paper, paper towels, liquid soap, toilet cleaner, etc., were restocked on time.
Office compound
- Make sure the office grounds are always clean
- Then, Making sure that all of the bathrooms are well-kept and clean.
- Make sure that all health and safety rules are followed at all times.
Work schedules
- At 5:30 a.m., people in charge of cleaning must report for duty (Monday to Friday). By 7:45 am, the cleaning should be done.
- The time for lunch is from 12:30 to 1:00. After staff lunch, the cleaning staff has to clean the kitchen.
- Finally, Except on official holidays, cleaners may have to stay until all of their daily tasks are done.
Safety and Security:
The people who were hired outside of WAG will be cleaning the office space there. All employees chosen by the Service Provider to work at WAG-premises will have to get a security clearance or character certificate from the local police. Along with the picture, a copy of the National Identity Card will also be given for the records.
Length of contract and annual review of performance
The contract will last for 1 (one) year at first, but it could be extended if the performance is good enough.
Skills or Experience Needed
Team leader/Supervisor experience/competencies:
The team leader or supervisor should have at least a SHS qualification and at least three years of experience supervising office cleaning services. (Please send a CV with relevant experience and qualifications)
Qualification of the cleaning personnel’s
Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) awareness, especially in offices where cleaning products and other chemicals are used.
General qualification for all personnel
- JHS minimum qualification
- Skilled and experienced in providing high-quality cleaning services that meet the highest standards of high-end buildings, condos, apartments, and offices.
- Then, knows about aesthetics and has a basic sense of it
- Focused on customer service and making sure customers are happy.
- Also, Training and certification in personal hygiene
- Lastly, Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) awareness, especially in an office setting where cleaning products and other chemicals are used.
General qualification for all personnel
Everyone on staff should:
- Be able to understand rules, orders, and instructions and follow them well.
- To be as quiet as possible and to show respect for the work that is being done.
- Cleaning staff must always wear uniforms with the company logo or sign, and they should have all the tools they need to do their jobs.
- If there is a change in staff, the service provider must let WAG know so they can get approval on the new staff’s eligibility and suitability.
