POSITION: Fundraising and Partnerships Manager
Job Purpose
The Manager of Fundraising and Partnerships oversees Savana Signatures’ business development efforts, playing a crucial role in creating new program partnerships and securing funding opportunities.
(S)He is anticipated to create and execute fundraising strategies, which include partnering with new organizations, liaising with funders, and establishing as well as managing relationships internally and externally.
Main Duties
Strategy and Planning for Fundraising
- Create and manage the execution of a thorough fundraising plan that includes various income sources, such as grants, consultancy services, and other alternative revenue options.
- Track funding trends and opportunities to adjust and improve strategies.
Proposal Creation and Funding Procurement
- Recognize, assess, and seek out funding options that align with the organization’s objectives.
- Craft and present persuasive funding proposals, including detailed project budgets, while ensuring they meet donor requirements.
- Guarantee adherence to organizational and donor requirements for proposals and bids.
Involvement of Donors and Partners
- Nurture and oversee connections with current donors to ensure ongoing assistance.
- Engage with prospective funders and partners, starting and overseeing talks on fresh funding possibilities.
- Act on behalf of the organization in business development activities, networking gatherings, and donor discussions to improve visibility and reputation.
Corporate Growth
- Sustain and refresh a database of financial backers, advisors, and collaborators to aid business development initiatives.
- Offer strategic advice and recommendations for competitive bidding choices and resource allocations.
- Oversee the management of main and secondary bids for donor-supported opportunities, guaranteeing quality, adherence to standards, and on-time submission.
Partnership Building
- Recognize and cultivate connections with potential partners for funding applications and collaborative projects.
- Create and uphold partnership agreements to enhance shared advantages and organizational effectiveness.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor and communicate advancements toward fundraising goals to the Senior Management Team (SMT) and the Board.
- Deliver monitoring and assessment reports for essential grants and contracts as necessary.
Strategic Depiction
- Advance the organization’s mission and initiatives among donors, partners, and stakeholders to enhance its reputation and broaden its network.
- Exchange insights on industry trends and offer suggestions for organizational strategies.
Necessary Qualification and Experience
- Academic History: Master’s degree in Development Studies, Business Development, or a similar discipline.
- Work Experience: At least 5 years of experience in fundraising management with a demonstrated history of fostering growth.
- Proven understanding of the NGO landscape in Ghana.
- A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in non-profit organization growth, international development, or a similar area, including at least 3 years focused specifically on business development.
- Showcased proficiency in creating proposals and strategies for various funders, such as U.S. Government (e.g., USAID), European donors, private foundations, and corporate sponsors.
- Robust leadership and management abilities, especially in directing proposal teams and supervising the business development procedure from strategy creation to adherence and execution.
- Donor Awareness: Thorough knowledge of donor guidelines, regulations, and procedures, along with experience overseeing partnerships that include technical and operational personnel as well as external collaborators.
Technical Expertise
- Outstanding skills in organization, planning, and time management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of articulating intricate ideas clearly to various audiences.
- Expertise in negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict management.
- Capacity to handle various priorities within a changing setting.
Language
Proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
