POSITION: Technical Trainer- Surface Equipment

The role:
As a Technical Trainer – Surface Equipment, your primary job will be to create and give specialized technical instruction on the operation, maintenance, and fault-finding of Sandvik’s surface equipment. You will ensure that both internal teams and external clients have the technical knowledge required to optimize equipment performance.
In addition to technical training, you will ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) requirements and assist customers in achieving cost savings and capital profit through expert technical advice and strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Provide OEM technical support to clients by establishing excellent management processes.
- Manage a successful budget by implementing cost-cutting initiatives while maintaining quality and ecologically safe and healthy practices.
- Develop and implement effective maintenance methods to maintain fleet availability and dependability as per contract parameters.
- Accept personal responsibility for the environment, health and safety, and the duty of care.
- Maintain all customer and stakeholder relationships.
- Maintain continual improvement initiatives to promote Sandvik’s corporate image and related product and service offerings.
- Ensure the personal and professional growth of subordinates.
- Maintain compliance with all Sandvik policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the post-training report is written and promptly distributed to all stakeholders.
Qualification
- Degree Qualified engineer or skilled tradesperson with required equipment technical and administrative experience.
- Qualification in project management would be advantageous.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar capacity.
- Strong business acumen and an emphasis on environmental health and safety.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and people management abilities are required.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Proficient in maintenance management procedures.
- A willingness to travel and work in remote regions for extended periods of time is required.
- Ability to operate in a multidisciplinary team and provide guidance to team members.
- Being able to communicate in French will be advantageous.
- Hold the appropriate MINCOM certification.
- Possess a valid Ghanaian driver’s license.
