POSITION: Grants and Compliance Accountant
Context

The Function
The role entails managing daily accounting tasks and ensuring adherence to both internal and external compliance standards. It is also responsible for the prompt preparation of donor reports, and budgets for new projects/contracts, and aiding in the financial management and reporting for Oxfam in the Ghana Programme.
Reporting to the Finance Manager and collaborating closely as part of the Finance Team, within the broader business systems and operations group, with primary responsibility for delivering professional finance, administrative, logistics, and IT management services that offer proactive and people-focused solutions for addressing concerns. This involves guaranteeing that the operational needs of business services are efficiently handled to achieve organizational outcomes, centered on enhancing the capabilities and knowledge of partner organizations to allow Oxfam in Ghana to fulfill the Country Strategy.

An enthusiastic and dedicated person with the following:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant area is mandatory (business administration, financing in the development sector, accounting, finance) or an equivalent professional certification such as Certified Chartered Accountancy and/or a Management qualification is desirable.
- Professional qualification in Accounting with experience in finance and logistics, understanding of Ghana’s financial regulatory framework (Company Act, tax, pension laws, etc.), and a solid history in grants management and external auditing. Affiliation with a reputable Professional Accountancy Body such as ICAG, ACCA, or CIMA.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a service organization is preferred; familiarity with the financial management needs of the development sector; a solid grasp of accounting standards and how they are applied in financial reporting. A proven track record of success in Compliance and Grant management procedures.
- Capacity to train and work with individuals who possess varying skill levels and come from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Strong collaboration, leadership, and communication abilities.
- A solid grasp of the various donors’ grant management standards and the regulatory framework in Ghana.
