Role Title: Intern
At the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, we collaborate with political leaders all over the world to drive change. We assist governments in making big ideas a reality, allowing them to deliver for their citizens.

Furthermore, we are political strategists, policy experts, delivery professionals, technology specialists, and more. We speak over 45 languages. Role Summary
We are hosting an exciting Summer Associate Internship Programme for ten weeks within our Anglophone West Africa country teams (The Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone), beginning in June 2024, for exceptional candidates who are passionate about politics and have the ability to effect change by working in and with governments.
Our Internship Programme will give you with a wide range of experiences while working with colleagues both locally and internationally. You will have the opportunity to work on an innovative program within our expanding project portfolio and business development initiatives.
During the Internship Programme, you will work on particular projects that support political leaders at all levels where we provide advice, help achieve significant change, be mentored by colleagues, and gain a comprehensive overview of life at TBI. Whether our colleagues are at TBI for a few years or for the majority of their careers as they grow and rise within the Institute, their experience positions them to have a significant worldwide influence.
The pay for this position is competitive.
Key Responsibilities
Our Internship Programme will provide you the option to participate in some or all of the following:
- Prepare research, analysis, written insights, and other deliverables for clients and country leaders.
- TBI assists political leaders on strategy, policy, and delivery, using technology as an enabler in all three dimensions.
- Support the delivery of high levels of project impact, providing quick performance tracking and collaboration as needed.
- Apply and learn from fresh and innovative techniques to enabling change and providing impact.
- Contribute to the development of strategies, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Assist project teams in creating reports, presentations, and other essential documentation.
Person Specification
We invite applications from students in their second or third year of undergraduate degrees.
We are seeking changemakers who have:
- A passion for politics and strong political insight.
- A work ethic centred on team success, with genuine motivation for colleagues’ performance, progress, and well-being
- An obsessive curiosity about data
A strong desire to generate new insights and conduct thorough analysis. - Experience as an entrepreneurial self-starter.
- Proven ability to carry out high-quality desk-based research.
- You should be comfortable with complex analysis and structured problem solutions.
- It is critical that you have a proactive and hands-on approach, willing to roll up your sleeves and take responsibility for your work.
- You must be lawfully resident and have the permission to work in Ghana, and you will be responsible for any lodging or boarding charges.
