    About the Position:

    Ficus Construction Africa, which is based in Accra, is looking for enthusiastic people to fill the role of Office Manager on our busy team. This permanent job is a good fit for someone who wants to move up in their Office management career and get hands-on experience in a busy, friendly workplace.

    Company Description

    Ficus Construction Africa is a company that builds things with the help of technology. We want everyone to be able to build and own a house, so our business interests include construction, equipment rental, construction consulting, the supply of building materials, and the supply of skilled construction workers.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Must show more passion or interest in this industry, as well as a background in it.
    • A good candidate must have at least a bachelor’s degree in office management or administration, or another degree in a related field, and at least 3 years of experience in office management or more in a similar role.
    • Must know a lot about how to run an office in the construction industry.
    • Excellent communication skills and very strong leadership skills.
    • You need to be able to think deeply and be creative.
    • They need to know what’s going on in the office management field.
    • Must be able to stay on task and ready to take on more than one job.
    • Be able to work well under pressure, with tight deadlines and high standards for quality.
    • An advanced understanding of and skill with Microsoft Office programs (a test will be administered to evaluate skill level).
    • You must be comfortable working on an international team from a distance and in a digital setting.
    • Good at paying attention to details, being disciplined, being self-motivated, being flexible, and taking responsibility.
    • An attitude and demeanor that is upbeat, enthusiastic, and inspiring.
    • Both written and spoken communication skills are very good.
    • Works well with other people.

    Role and responsibilities

    Among the responsibilities, but not all of them, are the following:

    • Keeping the front desk running and supervising it, as well as helping company visitors.
    • Helps the company run by keeping office systems running and keeping an eye on staff.
    • Keeps office services running by organizing office operations and procedures, keeping track of mail, designing filling systems, reviewing and approving supply requests, and assigning and keeping an eye on clerical tasks.
    • Gives information about the past by describing how records should be kept, protected, retrieved, moved, and thrown away.
    • Make office policies by setting standards and procedures, comparing results to standards, and making any necessary changes.
    • Meets operational needs by scheduling and assigning workers and keeping track of how tasks turn out.
    • Keeps management up-to-date by reading and analyzing special reports, summarizing information, and spotting trends.
    • Keeps office staff in place by hiring, selecting, orienting, and training employees under the supervision of management.
    • Keeps office staff assignments on track by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, as well as planning, monitoring, and evaluating their work.
    • Helps make the annual budget, including putting together a schedule of expenses, analyzing differences, and starting corrective actions.
    • Contributing to the work of the team by doing related tasks as needed.

    Preferred

    • Applicants who are women will have an advantage.
    • Excellent hands-on experience, knowledge, and understanding of how an office works and how a business works.
    • Must be able to show at least 3 years of experience in this role or a similar role in a construction company, with each year adding more responsibility.
