Field Service Engineer is responsible for all onsite support management, planning, implementation, and project management of patient monitoring devices, applications/servers including Host, HL-7, patient monitoring remote access products and various hospital communication gateway products.
Additionally, will provide on-site and remote IT support for patient monitoring WLAN and other IT related duties of the highest level to support our patient monitoring business unit. Technical skills to include medical devices, routing, switching, wireless and firewalls.
Essential Functions And Basic Duties
- Assumes responsibility for managing Host, HL-7, patient monitoring remote access products and various communication gateway products.
- Responsible for overall IT/applications on-site product support providing oversight, training and technical direction to hospital biomedical staff
- Work with Biomed and clinical on-site at hospital location during implementation.
- Perform software updates and IP changes on NK equipment
- Provide technical support pre and post device changes.
- Conducts technical calls with accounts implementing patient monitoring server products.
- Works with our internal teams to ensure successful coordination and delivery of products.
- Works with account to establish remote access capabilities for the NK teams.
- Completes all required documentation and assists with inventory management.
- Assumes responsibility for all ongoing patient monitoring product support.
- Provide on-site troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution for all hospital related issues.
- Tracks and resolves problems promptly and effectively. Ensures optimal service.
- Ensures that deadlines are met.
- Obtains and conveys information as needed. Logs all problems including cause and resolution information.
- Promotes goodwill and a positive image of the Company.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Performs miscellaneous projects as assigned.
- Updates technical skills as required.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.

Qualifications
Miscellaneous Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s licenses
- Reliable vehicle/transportation as will be required to drive to and from some locations
- Clean driving record
- Valid automobile insurance
Working Conditions
- Ability to work under pressure and in potentially high stress environments and situations
- Ability to work evenings, afterhours, holidays, etc. as the need arises
- Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials
- May travel by both plane and car to customer locations
Education/Certification:
-
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field and/or equivalent experience. CCNP, CCNA, MCSE
Required Knowledge
- Extensive understanding of hospital IT functions, infrastructure issues and medical system integration.
- Experience working with electronic medical record systems desired.
- The ideal candidate will have been a Senior Biomedical Service Field Engineer or Systems/Network Engineer with the appropriate years of experience
Experience Required
- 5+ years of related software and hardware experience.
- Technical skills to include routing, switching, wireless and firewall
Skills/Abilities
- Able to work well independently.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Solid oral and written communications abilities.
- Ability to assist and train others.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- TRAVEL: Ability to travel to other Health System locations
- SPEAKING: Able to speak and present information in front of groups
- PHYSICAL: Able to carry up to 25 pounds
