Newmont’s Africa Operations operates two gold mines in Ghana: the Ahafo Mine in the Brong-Ahafo area and the Akyem Mine in the Eastern region. Ghana is also focusing on near-mine exploration and development to replace gold reserves on an annual basis. In addition, Newmont Africa has early-stage exploration programs in Ethiopia and Morocco.

Newmont Mining Corporation is seeking skilled and experienced candidates for the following jobs:
1. Environmental Technician
Qualifications Required
- A diploma in Chemistry, Natural Resources Management Environmental Science, or a relevant engineering subject is required.
- A minimum of three years of environmental experience in mining or comparable industrial operations is required.
- Interpersonal abilities (interacting with people from various functional and cultural backgrounds)
- Communication abilities (both written and spoken).
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) literacy is required.
2. Community Relations Officer
- A bachelor’s degree in social science or a similar discipline is required.
- Excellent knowledge of local culture and habits.
- Competence in conflict resolution.
- A Driver’s License B is an added bonus.
- A minimum of three years of experience working in community relations in mining or comparable industrial operations contexts is required.
- Interpersonal abilities (interacting with people from various functional and cultural backgrounds).
- Strong communication abilities (both written and verbal).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent reporting abilities.
