POSITION: Store Keeper (Engineering)
Engineering Storekeepers are responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing goods and equipment, keeping records of supply transactions, and ensuring that materials acquired are listed on requisitions and invoices.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliveries and departmental issues should be accurately recorded in the stock ledgers and balanced daily to the required standards.
- Match the goods received to the delivery notes from suppliers.
- Receive products from suppliers.
- Ensure that all goods are immediately delivered to the proper shop and that no commodities are left unsecured or unsupervised in the receiving area.
- To ensure sufficient purchasing lead-time, purchase requests for “below minimum” items should be made to the purchasing department in a timely manner.
- Distribute items to Engineering Department staff based on store requests.
- To oversee the cleaning and hygiene schedule for all key shop sections.
- Responsible for evaluating and recording any products issued after hours.
- Responsible for keeping all storerooms locked, supervised, organized, and clean at all times.
- Responsible for carrying out any additional activities assigned by Management and aiding in other areas of Purchasing as required.
- Responsible for communicating with the supervisor about any inconsistencies or other potential issues.
